Distributor / Reseller Sales and Marketing
Most of SWC's sales are
made to distributors and resellers of our products. Our direct sales are limited to
large industrial and municipal accounts that cannot be handled
cost-effectively by a distributor or reseller. Our sales consultants have
worked previously with major water treatment companies. Much of their time
is spent supporting our distributor and resale customers in larger accounts
and prospects. We sell only to
large accounts and try to find resellers and distributors to cover small
and medium sized industrial, commercial, and potable markets. We do
not have exclusive territories for our distributors or resellers, which
is the primary reason we prefer that they sell under their own company's
name.
In certain highly competitive situations
SWC will sell directly to a large municipal
customer and pay commissions to the distributor or reseller who develops
and/or provides services to the account. This essentially allows
the distributor or reseller to sell at a lower margin than would be
possible if he had to handle and cover the cost of the money involved.
We supply the our distributors and resellers with the
products, technology, laboratory and technical support, and equipment
sources that allow them to provide complete water treatment programs to
their customers with no in-house overhead required for these functions.
This allows our customers to concentrate their efforts on sales and
service, (the fun and profitable part of their business) and avoid
spending valuable time and capital on manufacturing, labor, equipment,
and inventory. Many of our best customers are small one or two man
operations who make an excellent living working as a sales organization,
leaving all manufacturing and shipping to SWC.
Our customers frequently comment
that we adjust our products and services to meet their needs, rather than
insist that they follow set policies that do not meet their individual
company needs.
SWC does not have
minimum order quantities or requirements. We fill orders as
received, from six-gallon pails to bulk tank truck shipments.
Except for a few standard products, all orders are manufactured as they
are placed. Normal shipping time is 2-3 days after receipt of
order.
